Does anyone know anything about Wards Western Field .22LR Model# EJN-802? I can't seem to find anything out online or in the books. All I am looking for is manufacture date and original selling price (and current vallue, but not that important). I found it in my parent's gaage and they can't remember anything about it.

I can't tell you anything about your particular rifle but I can tell you that most of the Montgomery Wards Western Field guns were actually made by Mossberg or Savage. I have a WF 782 .243 that I receintly discovered was made by Mossberg.

Here's an interesting cross reference list that may get you closer:

Western Field was a trade name for Montgomery Ward. They would have another manufacturer build the gun and put their name on it. Usually of no collector value but priced as shooters.

I have a Western Field 30-30 that was made by Marlin, same as a model 336. It came with a fixed 4X Western Field scope on it with a European "T" reticle. I don't know who made the scope but it's pretty good glass for a cheapo.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to clean it up and let my wife shoot it to see if she wants a better gun down the road.

Gun parts corp.catalog has a cross refrence in the front with most of the Montgomery Ward firearms in it.

I dont see the 802 number in there though
