With almost every consumer item a person can return it for cash, credit, or exchange even if it is covered by the factory warranty. Why are all firearm sales final? That's the one thing I hate about dealers. Most of the time I have to special order a handgun and if there is a problem, they refuse to exchange it. They just say, "Sorry, you will have to send it to the company for warranty work."

I'm sure it is some kind of liability issue.  What if you used it in a crime?  That type of question comes to mind...

I did exchange one once.  I knew the shop owner and there was a visible defect in the gun once disassembled.  It was also still unfired.
