Does anyone know what parts and what parts can or cannot be swapped between these two pistols?  Granted that both of them are the same length.

Thanks

Everything, as long as not trying to swap w/ 80 series Colt.

As I understand it, the 1991 series also has a firing pin safety.

I'm not sure about this because I haven't tried it, but I believe you might have some trouble putting a 1911 hammer on an A1 frame - the original hammer was very long and may hit the grip safety tang on an A1.

The 1991A1 is an 80 Series gun and has the firing pin safety parts, pin retention plate, etc.
