I bought an adapter for the UTL that I had and it seems to be very bright, but a bit awkward to turn on, and the sling want to hang in front of the light.

Is the  Surefire m500a brighter?

Can you use it lefthanded? (is the pressure switch in a place that a lefty can reach?
Thanks

I know that Wes from MSTN can answer this question, or Donnie from Sableco.

You might check with them.  They post a lot over on the Equipment Exchange and both carry the lights.

Good luck.

Yes, both the model A and B are brighter.

Some people remedy the L hand problem by installing the unit upside down. This configuration may be uncomfortable for some, so I suggest you give it a try first.

I don't believe it is even close.

The Surefire in either A or B is much brighter.
