in a recent article by Gary Paul Johnston, Gary wrote that the Navy Seals love the M-14 rifle system because "it is one of only two RIFLES that can be fired immediatly upon surfacing from water."

but he didn't say what the other rifle system was.  does anyone know what it is?? obviously not the M-16.  Just Curious.

I'd guess the AK-47... I acutally know of someone who fired one while under water...(not me I'm not crazy enough to even try)

actually i have seen this done with MP5's but im not sure if these count as rifles for the purpose of this discussion.

that crossed my mind too, but i double checked and he clearly said 'rifle'
