Current issue of American Hunter has an article about this round. It is simply a 22Mag necked down to .17cal. Any existing 22mag firearm will need only a different chamber/Brl to use this round.

A ruger 10/22 Mag in this caliber would be interesting.

I wonder what the soft body armor penetration characteistics of this round would be from a Taurus revolver or AMT automag?

If it did penetrate soft body armor from a handgun wouldn't it be banned like the FN 5.7mm?

THe FN load is not banned. It is voluntarily restricted by its manufacturer.

5.7 if it were ever avalble to us it would only be chambered in rifles. fn just said no to civilian sales incase some bad guy stole a 5.7 pistol. course not all 5.7 rounds are ap!

as dar as 17. hrm since its a rifle round and fits in the other anti ap rules its legal hell it would legal in a pistol to. anyway i faul to c the point of this round and will probly buy a couple boxes to hole away for when the rest of the people relaize this and the round is no longer made
