Looking at the Bushmaster website they mention they were #1 (by a HUGE margin) in Ar-15 sales (civilian only) in 1999. I am wondering who is tops these days, or in 2000 or 2001?

anyone know?

Still Bushmaster by far; so much so that they are having trouble keeping up.  Colt has more manufacturing capacity, but they're releasing very little to the civilian market.  Since Colt has the sole-source contract for M4s, they're also struggling to keep up with military demand.
