Dark Helmet, I like the way you mount the light. A instructor at Sure Fire school show us the little trick on mounting it upside down. It eliminated the barrel shadow. Good deal Helmet.
BTW, are you still surround by assholes?? |

Actually my buddy and I dreamed that one up on our own. I'm a lefty and I didn't like the way the light blocked my right eye field of view so we tried it upside down. It works awesome and a lot of my shooting buddies have done the same even though they are right handed. |

How does moving the light eliminate the barrel shadow? I can see how the shadow would be moved to a different area, but now how it would be eliminated. Francisco |

How does moving the light eliminate the barrel shadow? I can see how the shadow would be moved to a different area, but now how it would be eliminated. Francisco Francisco, The light beam spread out in a cone shape. The cone shape will cover the barrel if the position of the light is install in the upright manner. it will give you a seven o'clockish shadow. It could be a hostile or something low you could miss because of the dark spot created by the barrel. By installing it upside down, the seven o'clock shadow eliminated. The cone will creat a shadow upward toward the barrel, but since it is poointing up, it is not as much of a factor as it was when the shadow was blocking you seven to eight o'clock vision. I hope this helps. If I don't explain this correctly, Ken Good in the light/laser board can do a much better job, since he dose run the sure fire institute. |

It would appear to me that the AR is of Olympic Arms manufacture. I am pretty sure that Olympic is the only one with that configuration...... DK

I'm not sure...on it when I bought it. It has the stowaway compartment. Yes Its an OLY preban 11 1/2 x 5 1/2. Have a Bushy M4 barrel ready for it too. |

Are the A2 sights still operable with that Aimpoint. Would like to get one of those removable tac handles..who makes that one? Would the sights still work with my Arms mount? |

The sights are still functional, and are low in the sight when looking through it. It's made by Rock River Arms, and was part of the LEGP accessory package. Contact AntiUSSA if you want one - he may still have some left. Not sure if the sights will be useable with an ARMS mount. You have to use a very low mount with the tac handle. The one I'm using is made by Aimpoint, and is basically a heavy duty version of the mount that comes with the Comp M/ML sights. This setup works really well for me since I'm not planning on going the NV route anytime soon. |

Thanks guys, I thought it turned out pretty well, for a FAKE! 37mm bbl on a dummy machined receiver, complete with trigger, safety, and KAC QD. Bbl slides, but non-firing.

I have a sling exactly like this and it came from ANTIUSSA (castle arms). I believe mine is made by Eagle Industries. It attaches to a side sling adapter in the front and has a strap in the back that loops through the slot in the top of the collapsible stocks and goes around where the buffer housing area would be. |

Thanks M4A3. It is called a tactical sling. It keep your gun perpendicular to your body at all time, quick and easy to bring it up to sight. The head, arm, and shoulder go thru the large loop.

Ruda,
Trace around the outline of the rifle or parts with chalk. Then follow the inside contour of the chalk line with one of those utility knives with the break off blade tips. I picked up the knife along with the chalk at Walmart for a couple bucks. The key is to use a sharp blade so as not to rip or tear the foam. What works best for me is to hold the foam over the edge of the table so the blade extends through the foam at all times. This keeps the tip of the blade from snagging and ripping the foam. Move the blade up and down in a sawing motion and follow the outline. Most importantly take your time. I have messed up a few pieces of foam simply by not paying attention. Good luck! |
