[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Clamp on lug for pre ban blue label colts?

Does anybody know who makes a clamp on bayonet lug? I read somewhere someone makes one that clamps over and under the barrel, so you don't have to remove the flashider to install it. It should be just the thing for pre ban blue lable colts.The only ones I can find slip onto the barrel and you must remove the flashider to install and remove.

John Norrell will TIG weld a USGI bayonet lug on for $40.Best investment you can make.
Getting him to do it is another story.
I plan to be set up to do this in May.

I ordered an entire front sight post assembly from Bushmaster once and had it replaced on one of my preban AR's lacking a bayo lug......costs about $30 and makes it look authentic......because....it is!!

Bushmaster used to have them. They are not listed in there current catalog though. I think M&A parts have them. I just E mailed them to see what kind they have. They have some kind of an adapter listed in there ad anyway,no description though. I will post here when I find out.

DPMS makes a bolt-on bayo lug, but it only works on 16" carbines, due to the distance between the bayo lug and the flash suppressor.
