As I am sitting on my arse here in west central Illinois, I fully concur with the location choice. Count me in.
BTW, are you considering the PASA range in Barry, IL? Just curious. Also, I'd love to see if Goatboy is really as ugly as his picture

Most of the informative discussions are happening the the Tacked Topic over in the General Discussion section.
To mention a few quick things... - We're looking into all lodging in the area. Onsite camping and a limited number of rooms will be available. (I called the suite! [=D]) There is also a secondary lodging down the street from the same owners which should also be available. After that, we'll find other viable options in the area. - This will DEFINITELY be family oriented. We'll have a number of scheduled events and small competitions for fun. We're also looking into other possibles from the area. I believe the lodge offers horseback riding through their trails and other such events. (Not sure yet what will be available at the time.) Keep in mind there are 1200 acres. - Costs are yet to be determined as are many details. As we get an understanding of interested parties, we will definitely get more information out to everyone, but already I can imagine it's going to be more bodies than we originally thought. My only concern is the transportation of "toys" for such a trip. I'm used to bringing lots of stuff, and I'm gonna feel totally outdone by all the locals who I KNOW will be driving in truckloads of cool toys.

How about a Loan/Rental program (aside from the class III) for the folks who can't/won't bring their "toys" (as Troy so aptly puts it) to this thing. And will there be some info on what can be brought, how it should be transported and stored, etc.

I am interested in attending and hope your referring to PASA park as I am a member. Excellent range and plenty of food/lodging in Hannibal/Quincy area. Families will enjoy park like atmosphere and super clean/neat facilities-my wife and daughter love to shoot there with me. The CMP range also has been improved for 200 to 600 yard shoots. If families arent into shooting, a wonderful day or two can be spent in visiting "Americas Hometown"-Hannibal,the home of Mark Twain. We live in Hannibal if you couldnt tell.

When I was reading the information to my girlfriend, she was somewhat paying attention. However when I got to the part about the machinegun rentals she stopped me mid-sentance and said, "whoa, whoa, whoa, you can rent these things, you have never told me that before." I guess I had failed to mention it seeing as how we live in a CR only state. Anyway she insisted that we sign up and go to the convention. Even better it is located very close to my grandparents place so we can stay with them. It could not be any more convenient. I am very excited to see you all there.
