Since the 1911 forums are down for a few days, I figured I'd post this here.

I'm looking for a Mech Tech or similar, Carbine Conversion Unit for a 1911 in .45 cal.  Anyone have one of these they would like to sell, or know the best place to get them cheap.

Thanks in advance!

How well does the conversion kit work? I have been looking at these also, just can't find out much in the way of reliabilty.

I'm curious as to how they work also.  Still want one to try for myself though!

I have had one of these units now for a couple of years over 2000 rounds and never a hang up and it is a hoot to shoot. Our club even made a special match for them when we shoot bowling pins. bowling pins go down every time you pull the trigger out to fifty yards. I get right at around 4 inch groups at 100 can't ask for much better than that.

Can you shoot reloads thru these things, or does it have to be factory ammo?

Most of my shooting has been with reloads. Have shot lead and jacketed. It even sounds like an AR-15 with the spring noise it makes. I have taken One deer with it last year about a 35 yard shot 120 lb spike took two steps and pilled up dead.

I had one in .460 Rowland. Mounted an OKO on it. That thing shot great. Really fun. I recomend it. I sold mine after the novelty wore off.

Well, I got one of these, and gave it to my Dad.  Now I want one for myself!  Anyone got a Wilson or Mech Tech CCU for sale?
