my FFL dealer is having reservations on ordering me a receiver. he thinks that only LEO's can purchase new receivers to build an AR. does anyone have a link to the ATF FAQ/ruling on building new semi-auto sporting rifles?

Good chance any ruling the ATF has made is listed there. I don't recall one on this topic, since there isn't really an issue anywhere but in the mind of your dealer. Might want to try the FAQ on the ATF site, too.

I hope he is not the only show in your town. If he wont get you something you can legally own find someone else who will!

Just another example of how a small minority (gun industry and owners) including those who should know better, have been brow beat and maligned for so long that they're afraid to make any sudden move for fear the Ghestapo may come to take them away.

They have become the elephant that is tethered by a ribbon and sees it as a chain.
