Was wondering what experience you all might be able to relate regarding Ramline aftermarket mags. I just got some of these 15 rd mags for my SIG 228. I haven't tried them yet.

I want to clean them up first. Any suggestions for the best cleaning and lubrication on these mags?

if there is any rust on the mags use Flitz* the stuff works wonders but may take off some finish if you use too much. Break Free cleaning oil is good for lubrication. Also I like hoppe's cleaning oil on almost anything

I have bunch for my 92F, and functions perfectly for me.  Hold 2 more rounds than factory.  The centerfire Ramlines use a flat spring rather than coil spring, therefore it has extra room for 2 more rounds.

You don't need to clean them until that start to jam.  I tried to clean one once, and it screwed it up, turning it into useless piece of junk. After that I never cleaned them again.

Clean METAL magazines out withour disassembly with high quality brake cleaner. It isn't as nasty as cheaper stuff IMO.  Let the gunge drip out and re-oil with some dedicated gun oil.....NOT WD-40!!!

Check the Equipment Exchange for factory SIG Hi Caps.

I have a pair for my 9mm BHP. I wish I had bought more and bought hundreds of those 10-22 mags.

Ramline plastic mags split and are ruined after a bit of use.

The ramline 22lr pistol was a piece of crap.

I buy nothing made by Ramline or USA mags company

I have six Ramline 18 round mags for my SIG P226. 3 blue and 3 stainless. They are very reliable as long as I stick to standard velocity ammo. +P ammo causes problems because of the increased slide velocity. They are great for practice, save wear and tear on my preban factory mags, and I wish I had more of them.

I've had several some time ago, for my Mini-14 and at first are just fine, but soon stop functioning. Also, if dropped, they puke out most of the 30 rounds. They suck.

I would recommend only Sig factory or Mecgar's (who also makes factory Sig mags) for reliablity.
