I once coveted a Glock 20, but since the 10mm never caught on, ammo became rather expensive. Also, I think the gun never sold in huge quantities (probably because it wasn't adopted - it is still an excellent weapon), so its mags are rare, and therefore expensive too. Great gun, if you've got the bucks.
On the other hand, a S&W .44 mag. revolver would be less costly, since the only thing you need to spend $ on is ammo. Now, .44 magnum isn't cheap, but the overall costs would probably be lees than with the Glock. Just my $.02

For a "fun" gun, a S&W 629 .44 Remington Magnum is hard to beat.

10mm is not super common to find. I would go with the .44. Take a look at the glock practical/tactical; very cool.

If you don't reload, I wouldn't recommend a 10mm. Glocks are efficient and reliable but somehow the word "fun" doesn't really enter into it.
Go with the .44 mag with a long-ass barrel, they are loads of fun. You can add a scope to it with a little work. |

If you Reload I'd go with the 10mm there are a few of us who shoot them at Wolfs in Bristol.. and we enjoy the 10 a lot
But I'd have to say the 44 would be much more versatile |

10 mm costs consistantly less or the same as .44 mag here. I love my G20 and 10mm is definitely underrated.
The 10mm (in the Glock) has MUCH less felt recoil than the .44 mag. I pay about $16/box for 10mm and about $18/box for .44 mag. |

Correct me if i'm wrong but you can also shoot .40 and .357 sig out of the G20 with changed barrels. Might be a good choice. I always prefer Glock over Smith. Always.

Yep, I just got me a .40 conversion barrel from FAC wholesale and converted my G20. It works flawlessly so far. Well that is 300 rounds.
Haven't tried the 357 sig yet. I hear thats a pretty good round too. |

Either guns, you need to reload to get the full benifit and to aford to shoot them, I got rid of alot of my wheel guns when the 94 ban started to buy all the terrible black gums I could get my hands on. But my 4" S&W still remains in the safe, it soots 1-1 1/4" groups at 25 yards with my handloads.
