Wrong board, but this one gets more than enough traffic, so just figured i'd post it: (is that as rambling as it sounds?)

Where can i find an SAR-2 or some other AK-74 knockoff? I found out this morining that AIM was out, and I can't find anywhere else that has them on their websites, except for Tennessee Guns where i'd have to pay double the $$$.

Anyone help?

On a side note:
I got an AK-47 clone last weekend at a gunshow that came dressed up in a black Choate stock and with a top-mounted Weaver base and a Eurolux 4x42; I couldn't find any markings to tell what kind of AK it was, except that it was 7.62x39...but when I got home I found out I'd paid nearly $500 for a WASR-10!!

Is that the single stacker?
Either sell it at a loss or dremel out the mag well. You have to add US parts to it. I bought a Sar 1 yesterday, last one my dealer had.

$500 for an AK!?  The only AK I'd ever pay that much for is a pre-ban.

Nah, it's a double-stacker;yeah, in hindsight that was amazingly stupid, but it just looked so nice

Yeah, I've seen FAC's ad in Shotgun News, but they seem to have had the same ad for 6 months...I'll check tomorrow when I go to the local FFL dealer though.

FAC is out of them as well. It seems all the wholesale places are sold out of them. AIM says they should get some more SAR-1's later but with an increase in cost ($299). I got one of the last SAR-2 from AIM delivered today.

Joy! I get to pay another 500 bucks for a freaking AK!! I feel sooo happy!! Maybe next week I can buy an M1A Match with a $1000 Leupold scope and 10,000 rounds of .308, and...
*sigh* Oh well...
[>Q]    Hey, smilies are cool

As far as I can tell the SAR-2s are gone, probably still some at retail.  I paid $289 for a perfect one this past weekend at the Cleveland show.  It was the last SAR 2 they had but they still had SAR-1s for $369. Other retailers were near $400. This was from Pataskala shooters supply near Columbus.  May check the AK site as others there may know of other outlets.

Well, if you are going to pay $500 for an AK, ger the Arsenal SA-M7.  FAC has them.  They are supposed to be the crown jewel of fine AK's.

7.62 only tho... no 5.45 like the SAR2
