Most tactical things I find quite boring, AR's most of all. I can appreciate their utilitarian value but they are about as much fun as watching golf. Not sure when the last time I fired any one of my semi auto rifles was.

AR's
Glocks I own both just tired of the plastic pistols. Into the older stuff now and revolvers. |
|
Almost every other sort of firearm I have seen the point of, at one time or another, except break open shotguns. SXS, over and unders, I have never had any interest whatsoever in them.
I also have never had any interest in boutique ARs. An AR is an AR in my opinion and they can only get so good... beyond that, it's flair and diminishing returns. Colt, KAC, Larue, that's about as much as I could put towards an AR, and still retain any sort of self-respect. The guy above who said "AKs", I agree. I have a couple for form's sake but I despise them as a weapon. |

Serious though not really a fan of over and under or single shot shotguns. I like SxS in rifle or shotgun. Drilling’s are neat, SMGs, PCCs, Bullpups, Bolt Guns of all flavors, pistols, revolvers, ARs, AKs, single shot rifles. My favorites are the ones that dent primers that makes me happy. |

M16/AR15. Worst pos ever devised by man. Decades of trying to correct the initial abortion has resulted in a rifle that, other than caliber, has none of the few good traits of the original.

Cheap firearms that ONLY achieve popularity due to their price.

I like all guns including black powder, paintball, air soft, BB, and pellet.
My least favorite is sub compact or smaller pistols. |
|
If it ain’t a fully-semi-auto rocket launcher I don’t wanna hear about it

Milsurp
Glocks (I have a G42 which I really like, have a gen 4 19 MOS hate it, have a fish gill 22 it's ok) Fudd guns Black powder most revolvers (I have and like a chiappa DS50 with 38/357 and 9mm cylinders) Bullpups (have an x95, would not consider any other bullpup) 1911s Magnum pistols Turkish shotguns lever action pump actions |
|
Revolvers and shotguns; I have no use for either.
I will concede however, that a good shotgun is probably the most versatile firearm one can get. |
|
Glocks
Used to say revolvers too, but I got to shoot and check out a Chiappa Rhino in .357 Mag, and I have to admit my inner engineer was impressed by the amount of fixing of not broke with remarkably shootable results going on on that gun. I have one now when at one point I thought I'd never have a revolver. Quoted:

Anything that isn't capable of being decently accurate. I don't care if it's a $10,000 engraved one off, if I can't hit what I should be able to with it, I don't have any interest in it. In the '80s I had no interest in ARs. It wasn't until Olympic Arms started selling the Ultramatch ARs that I became interested. I never had any interest in AKs until a couple months ago when someone showed up to a local match with an AK built from Finnish light machine parts. After seeing that thing shoot I now want one.

anything .308 I just hate the cartridge
For its weight and recoil, it offers nothing over .30-06 and was utterly pointless. It killed off other much better ideas and set us back. The pinnacle of .30 cal obsession. You have so many measurably better calibers out there but we seem stuck with .308 W/O .308, your ar10 would have been in .30-06 and 1/2" longer. Imagine all the calibers ar10s could be made in if that had been the action length. same w the m60 / m240b |

Get me a .50cal or 25mm. |

Shotguns- heavy and bulky ammo, slow to reload, limited range. A carbine is more versatile.
Subguns/PCC-might as well carry a sbr for the same weight and size . Hunting rifles- don't hunt. I do have a 45-70 Henry cause the cartridge ( handloads) is bad ass. Anything Ruger or Taurus. Ruger SRH is a tank of a revolver though. Anything .380 or .40 cal, 9mm is better. And cheaper to shoot. |

I pretty much want one of anything a projectile comes out of.
The only exception is a match lock. |

Mil Surp rifles from WWII and older from any country, USA, Japan, etc,etc... Have zero interest for me.
Black powder is another zero interest. Taurus, Hi-Point , SCCY, Glocks .... :) Derringers ,Single shot rifles, Bull Pups,Tennis ball/beer can launchers. |
|
Any thing Fudd and I have no interest.
.22s. No interest. If it's not military type weaponry or personal defense oriented, it won't catch my eye. |
|
I don't care about long guns, unless it is a .22 then I will probably buy it. I don't care about shotguns, I don't care about centerfire rifles, they just don't interest me that much. I do love pistols though. My safe has 25 pistols, and 9 long guns (5 of which are .22lr)

Bull pups and PCCs.
Fuck bull pups in particular, they are ergonomically I’ll suited for combat. |
|
Black powder. Guns that needlessly waste sight resources or run on nut coal.
|

I like air and CO2 powered firearms, black powder, rifles of all types, pistols of all types, and every shotgun type but one: Bolt action shotguns.
|
|
Any FUDD gun other than the one Ruger 10-22 that I own.
Anything firearm with the letters SKS. Any revolver. Any single shot or pump action shotgun. |
|
Not a huge fan of revolvers, have shot them a few times but not my thing. Lever guns, own one and will likely get another for straight wall rifle hunting purposes. Odd cal rifles like the 7mm WSM, hard to find ammo for, expensive as shit. It was the one gun in my life I sold off.
Edit: Muzzleloaders. Have one that I have not shot in 7-8 years |
|
I like accurate guns, if they have rifled barrels. If they don't then it's a shot gun.
So, liking accurate guns I've never seen any use in buying a lever action rifle. Used to get the opportunity to shoot them pretty often when I was in my late teens/early 20's and not one, Winchester or Marlin, would compete with the 742 my father-in-law deer hunted with nor with the old bolt action rifles I had at the time (M1917, 03, 03A3, 03A4). I have shotguns, but I'm only bought 3 in my life. Oh, 4. Forgot about the Win. M97. I used to hunt and the M37 got all the woods time. The 11-87 is too heavy, the M97 kicks too hard (yeah, a heavy old Winchester kicks more than the much lighter M37 Ithaca, go figure) and the old Auto 5 was purchased after I'd stopped hunting (wish I'd had it 30 or 40 years ago, I believe it would have got some woods time). And yeah, I've spent a lot of money the last few years buying different brands/models of striker fired pistols looking for one that shot good groups. No luck so far. I think I'm probably done looking at those. |

In this thread we find out who doesn’t like guns. Never saw a gun that I didn’t want to shoot or handle. |
