Rik,

What mount are you using with your Aimpoint?

[#12]
Here's the only one I have a pic of:

It's a pre-ban PWA with a "frankengun" upper. FN receiver, barrel, bolt, etc., and an aluminum handguard tube. I got it this way, and was going to change it around but it shoots so well, I've decided to leave it alone. I'm going to make an M4gery out of it one of these days.

M4A3- The case is a Pelican 1700. I believe I got it from Botach.

sidx- I took a fine point black marker and carefully outlined my rifle. After that was done, I used a long, thin pen-like retractable razor to cut the foam. It worked great. You just have to make sure you're standing over the foam, not cutting while sitting next to it, or the cuts will be angled.

I dont know about anyone else, but an electric meat carving knife(of all things)works well for me.

Aimpoint Rail Grabber Quick Detach mount.  Runs about $90, you can't overtighten it and it holds zero after being taken off and put back on.

I finally found something about you I like - your Car-15 with Beta C.

M4, great setup, if you don't mind me asking, how much was the pelican ???  Also, what kind of suppressor are you using ?? Is that the original finish on your receivers ??
SPECTRE out...

I believe the Pelican was about $130.00-140.00.
I'm using a Phantom, and the finish is all original.

LOL!!!!  What and lose my rustic photo backdrop??? Not on your life!!
Or, I could just tell people that that is not a deck, but in fact is an exterior barn wall the gun is hanging from..  Yeah... That's the ticket...

No really, I'm replacing and expanding the whole thing next spring, so no need trying to fix what's there now. When I moved in, it was covered with astro-turf, presumeably to keep little ones from getting splinters. I always wear slippers or flops as a minimum when I'm out there....
I gotta get my new digicam before I replace the "set" though.

I like my Hogue as well.  I wasn't big on it when I saw it on the gun, but after shooting it for a while I must say I like it much more than the standard pistol grip.

Gotta have TOYS.

Since this is the AR15.com site I'll elaborate on the M16.  It's a factory Colt M16A2 marked "AUTO" (not "burst").  That's a FN 11.5" upper on the gun with a Phantom flash hider.  That's obviously an ACOG and the back-up sight is an ARMS. I also have a Colt 14.5" M4A3 upper which is on the gun right now.

Here's four of mine...

two 11.5" in .223
one Colt 635 (9mm) clone
one 16" in .223

...and all have the 3-way happy switch (safe-semi-auto)

Man, I can remember 1986-88 when they almost couldn't give those 9mm AR-15s away. Everybody was all Uzi crazy. They (the Colt) sold everywhere for about $350. I bought a Mini-14 for the same price instead. I wish I woulda parted with the extra money for one of the Colts as well. Damn it.

shaggy,
Just curious how you can own class three weapons in NY. I can't even get a short barrel rifle if I tried. Are you LEO or military?

Where do you all get the cash to buy the Trijicon scopes?

Not to mention the frigging rifles with the three position happy switch.....

Simple; I don't.  Actually, I'm not a NY resident.  I spend a lot of time in NY, and even have an apartment in Brooklyn, but NY isn't my place of permanent residence and I don't bring the guns there.

Guys, here is a picture of my "plain-Jane" M4gery. I haven't had a chance to accessorize her yet, so I guess she's naked. You all like naked things, don't you? Anyway, it is a Colt/Bushmaster hybrid. The pre-ban lower, telestock, and M4 handguards are Colt. The 14.5" M4A3 upper with permanently-attached Phantom flash suppressor is from Bushmaster. Maybe one day she'll be a knockout...
