My google foo is apparently weak.  I've heard that the Mossberg MVP fit these criteria, but I'm unable to find anything on Mossberg's site.

The Mossberg is not a factory option, you have to get it re-barreled.

I'm not aware of any that fit what you are looking for.

It's looking like the simplest option is a Remington 700 AAC, then swapping in a magpul stock and bottom metal...that's probably too much trouble right now though.

Yah,I saw the Ruger but honestly, wtf were they thinking with a proprietary magazine? 99% of the appeal of BO is it's ability to use existing magazines/bolts.  There really needs to be a SAAMI for magazines, I mean at least straight walled ones.

Yes, but that doesn't stop there from being at least  5 different incompatible 5.56/223 rifle magazine designs currently in production

Ar15 with a backwards gas block? Not quite factory but otherwise fits all criteria.

Tromix used to make everything you needed to swap a MVP to .300BO. He no longer has them on his website as they did not sell quickly. I'm kicking myself for not getting one and SBRing a MVP.

The thing about bolt guns is, they're legal in places that hate on semi-autos with detachable box magazines.  They're also legal in places that you can't use 30 round magazines.  So making a bolt gun that takes a 30 round magazine is self defeating from a business stand point.  Most people who can use 30 rounders would just get an AR15, and people who can't well... can't.  So it's just a product that doesn't fit between laws.

If you want to wait a while, one is probably coming - exactly as you describe.

Middle of this photo. Prototype in between two production models already brought to market.

"When" is anyone's guess. Would be cool if it was SHOT Show.

Who said anything about 30-round mags?

A STANAG compatible bolt rifle would have the capability of using 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 round magazines, even without considering mag blocks.  And all for MASSIVELY cheaper than a 5 round proprietary magazine that is vulnerable to going out of production and is much harder to find, and will have infinitely fewer options (windows, colors, textures, etc.)

ETA: In any case your argument ignores the fact that making a 300BO bolt gun AT ALL is illogical, considering the origin and purpose of the round.  But since they are being made, why hobble them?

Yea, if it takes AR mags it takes 30 round mags.  What you choose to put in it is irrelevant.  What the states see is a gun that can take 30 round mags.

Yes, ... and it scares the beegeezus outa of those left-wing statists just thinking that law-abiding citizens within their jurisdiction might have possession of bolt-operated rifles capable of accepting 30-rd AR mags.

Skeery shit is what that right there is.

It would still be a bolt action. Are there any states that ban mag-fed bolt actions?

I know of no laws that prohibit weapons by potential magazine capacity, only actual currently inserted/possessed magazine capacity.  Disclaimer: I'm sure CA, MA and NY will prove me wrong.

The MVP is pretty close.  I've got a mag fed 300BO bolt action, but it uses AICS polymer .223 mags.  The MVP uses AR mags but mine is in 5.56.

I'd like to get a 9mm barrel and mag well conversion and throw it on my MVP.  That's be a cool little plinker!

Yes.  It's about 10" at muzzle.  Slightly longer with that Griffin brake.

The New Hunter American Stock by MAGPUL may work. I think its designed for the 308 RAR but the 300BLK RAR is a short action. And I think they have AICS mags for 223.

As a owner of a 300BLK Ruger American ranch I wish someone would come up with a conversion. The Stock RAR rotary mags suck.

There is a conversion kit in the works and it will be here in late October.

We are building it on a Savage long action and using Ruger Mini14 mags. Its a very simple and robust conversion.  300AAC BO works great out of the ruger mags and works great in the Savage system. As a bonus you can easily change bolt heads on a Savage to any size you want.

Here ya go - a straight pull bolt action w/ a forward operating handle:

Why would you use expensive and finicky ruger mags?  I assume there is a technical reason, but I can't for the life of me figure out why in any other case.

It is technical, is the only mag that will work with all the different calibers and still fit in the current space of the Savage mag openeing.

Fuck yes. If they release a stock .300Blk bolt SBR I will be first on the preorder list. Been thinking about building one for years but an off-the-shelf solution would be fantastic.

That is why i made that thread. There are already two companies that make new DBM for the Ruger american series. One had been making them since the american series was a thing.
