I consider my guns tools, they're not show pieces. My top priority when buying a firearm was reliability, then accuracy, effectiveness, functionality, feel, looks, etc., etc. For instance I own three Glock 17's, they're the only handguns I own, they serve a purpose, they're certainly not pretty, but they fit my needs almost perfectly.
But for some reason I have had this infatuation with several other handguns that I just can't get out of my head, a Browning Hi-Power and a Ruger new Vaquero in .45 Colt. I have intentionally tried to ignore this desire but it is persistent and non-stop, every time I get a free mental moment I find myself thinking about them, then get online and start price shopping them. I think it might have something to do with wanting a few all-metal guns, nostalgia maybe? I really don't need either handgun, but I just want them. Everyone loves to get a new gun, but I simply cannot justify either one. I also have a Browning BLR '81 Lightweight in .358win on my shortlist, but that is justifiable as I have no serious large game hunting rifle at this time. As a matter of fact, I just got off work and want to head down to the LGS and see what they have. |

Picking up a sig 229 cpo next week and a marlin 1895g 45-70 before elk season.

Every once in a while you have to let go of 'what purpose will this serve' and just buy what you want!
It will be ok. You likely owe it to yourself Glock can still be used for whatever purpose they serve now. Buy your BHP just because and blast away at the range Firearms are my hobby. That's the only justification I need to buy one. Bills paid? Kids fed? House warm? Car running? Money in the bank? Live a little |

I dont have a Ruger Viquero but I have many handguns. I never really wanted a Viquaro but a friend of mine bought one and took it to a smith in NH, oh damn, that thing felt soooo damn sweet! This smith only works on Rugers and now I want one.

you only live once. cover the bases with the ones you need then buy what you want.

Mannlicher stocked 9.3x62mm bolt action and a ton of other stuff.

My bucket list guns.
HAC-7 Walther WA 2000 Anything full auto. |

M249s para. Really no use for it plus it's a semi beltfed . But I just want it!

Well, apparently Hi Powers are rare as hens teeth around the Little Rock area, as are any Vaquero's. Oh well, have to keep checking around.

|
Constantly changing but right now:
Sig legion 226 sao Ruger precision .308 or 6.5 |
|
Most of my guns are purpose driven but I have a few that I think are just cool.
Gotta get what you enjoy. |
|
My mini 14 doesn't serve any purpose other than making me smile every time I shoot it. My AR's are probably better weapons but the mini was a just because type of gun.
I still want a CZ 550 in 505 Gibbs for similar reasons. Life is to short to only have serious guns. |

MCX with a sig can- yea I know it doesn't do much more than a AR, and yea I know the accuracy sucks, but damn if they're not sexy.
Why I won't buy one? Too expensive and accuracy sucks, not many "upper" parts interchangable with an AR, I.E. I can't just swap the barrel for a more accurate one. Plus I'd probably want an 300BO SBR. Salvo 12 - Expensive but I got an extra form 1 being approved any day, I may try to replicate one. The design seems simple enough, I just need some sort of way to mill aluminum. Why I won't buy one? Eh, I'm trying to stay away from NFA to save my wallet. I submitted a bunch of forms pre-41F. So its sort of like a "rule" that I won't buy any more NFA. That is... until a killer deal comes along. MP7/TP9- a good cross between a pistol and a sub gun. Seems like you could use one 1 handed pretty easily if you needed to. I like that. I may try to develop some type of stock a 10/22 can drop into to give you that MP7 feel in .22lr. But for now I've got other projects I'm working on. Why not? Mp7 is obvious, TP9 wayyyyyyy too expensive. For that price tag I'll never see one unless I win the lottery. CZ 75/ P-09 w/ Threaded Barrel- Ergo's seem really nice. Why not? Eh, not sure if I'd like the hammer and the trigger. I'm kinda weird I like to know when the guns going to break, years of factory AR and glock triggers did that to me. I had a sig 226 that had just a smooth trigger, everyone else that felt the trigger said it was great, I didn't like it. Maybe someone can chime in and tell me if I would like it or not. Long range precision gun- Why not? I have nowhere to stretch a standard rifles legs right now . Farthest range I got is 100. Best I can do right now is shoot for groups. But perhaps if/when I get access to a longer range I'll buy a long range gun. Plus we're in a yuge gun sale slump, there's been good sales and there will be more good ones. Be patient my friends. I got a whole list of them, but these are the few that are in my head right now. |

SBR'd PS90. Seems like it would be a wonderfully light and handy rifle when hiking close to the border.
Marlin 336 in .38-55 with vernier peep sights, because I love cast bullets, leverguns, and long-range ballistics. M240L, because fuck you and dishonor upon your cow. |
|
Pretty much have everything I've ever wanted. What I don't have is financially unobtainable at the moment, like anything automatic. I wanted to do a SBS, "Mad Max" style but probably won't bother because of the hassle with the new regulations. Maybe an M9A3 or Mossberg Shockwave, when it's in stock somewhere, other than that. I I'm basically done.

Another 50BMG. This time Semi auto.
AR10 Pistol. belt fed anything. 4" bore cannon. |

What if I told you these two simple things that arfcomers like yourself hate to hear?
There are no rules that says you cannot own anything else but one type of gun to do as many roles as possible. And there are still no rules that says you have to have 87 million rounds of ammunition for these collectors/reference/range toys. I got what I need for defensive purposes. Now all I do is buy the guns I want. If all I had was defensive only guns, then I'd lose interest to go shooting because shooting the same thing over and over without adding something different and fun to it is just boring and would kill my motivation to shoot the same crap without adding something to it as a reward for myself. |

A .338 lapua bolt action, Henry 45-70, ar-10, a 500 win mag revolver, 50 BMG semi auto... I want to start acquiring larger caliber rifles/handguns.
|
|
My all time top want is a Colt .32 Auto. I think they're an ideal EDC weapon if you're a reasonable marksman.
I've wanted a Hi-Power for a long time too. |
|
Glock 34
Beretta 92 Brigadier Inox Beretta 92a1 Ruger GP100 That's about all I can think of at the moment. |
|
Marlin 45-70 lever action, big loop.
S&W 686 SW 329pd Ruger precision rifle in creedmoor S&W 629 classic S&W 617 M9A3 Mateba Garand M14 1911 of some sort I don't really list guns I can't acquire because well, they are unobtainable. I'd love a belt fed, for example (full auto is implied as semi-auto belt feds are just zzzzzz)....because I can't afford and do not do NFA. |

If I had to pick right now, I'd say a CZ Shadow 2 and an FN M249S of some flavor. I don't compete but that Shadow 2 is one sexy handgun. The M249S just looks like fun. I'd have to sell of a pretty significant chunk of my collection to swing that though, and I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Maybe I'll settle for just the Shadow 2 by the end of the year. |

I've always wanted a HK USP Match (the ones Laura Croft carries). I would love for them to start producing new ones with optic cuts and 15 round mags!
|

Lol... every time I pick up a Gun Magazine.... there is something "new" I want.
I would like a Full auto BAR.... just something intriguing about it. |

There's a few, but the one GD will think is the strangest is a .32 left handed Lancaster style flintlock
|
|
Daddy's getting a mpx pistol if I can sell my ruger single six model 0629(the 22. Vaquero) and 220R.
|
|
wouldn't mind a Pedersoli or Uberti 1874 Sharps Carbine in .45-70
have no need for it but it looks pretty fun |
|
Just saw a video for the Maxim 9, I wonder if they'll make a .45 version ? I think it will evolve eventually and be smaller.
|
|
I feel you. That's how I look at the Surgeon .338 Lapua.. I'll never afford it though.

|
Black Desert Eagle Mk XIX in .44 Magnum with Trijicon RMR and suppressor
FN PS90 SBR and Five-seveN both suppressed Super short .300 blk build, like a Honey Badger or similar HK MP5K, suppressed of course HK Mk 23 with RMR and suppressor Seeing the pattern here? C'mon HPA |

I've been wanting a beretta m9 for awhile, no particular reason, just wanted one. I picked one up at the gun show this weekend, haven't shot it yet, plan to tomorrow.

I think it is funny. So many people seem to be put into a "lesser" gun guy category if they own a few "Safe Queens".
"Everything I own has a specific purpose. IF I don't shoot it, I don't buy it!!!" Or some such other qualifiers. I shoot.....a lot. BUT, I also love to collect. My interests wander and vary. I would LOVE to have an FN 249. I would park it right beside my 58 cal flintlock, and not bat an eye. Neither is a practical gun to own now days, but I don't really care!! Some of what I own has not been shot, nor will be. Some has been shot extensively. Just my .02 Doc |
