I can't get combat accuracy for 300 yard max at under 500$?

Any Savage bolt gun will do. If you shop around the EE you may beat that 500 dollar limit.

Current arsenal has 12g, 5.56, 9mm and 38sp in it. the 5.56 will never ever get shot in training/practice so it's useless to me. I have this itch to go to 9mm AR's but retain at least some kind of 'down the block' capability. If I have to , I can sight in a longer range gun at the fudd range and I can shoot the 9mm AR's at my local range. economics matter here. I happen to have a quantity of 7.62x39 ammo so that helps. |

Of your original choices I'd go with a used CZ 527 in 7.62x39. (if you can find one)
It was the most accurate rifle in that caliber I've ever shot. |

Why won't you train with your AR? I realize some of you are stocking up for the end of the world, but whats the point if you never train with it. That would be your option for 300yds, maybe buy some reloading stuff with the $500.
Another option is a used Rem 700. |

thanks for the suggestion. I had one with a QD scope mount. the straight pull action kinda freaked me out, but the mag fed option was useful. are extra mags plentiful? I paid 300$ for the rifle, mount and 300 rounds in '06, I'm guessing its more now?
