I’m thinking of buying a STGW 57 / PE 57 parts kit. Does anyone know if anybody is making or going to make a receiver for this fine weapon? Any and all thoughts and ideas on this are welcome. If you have one please let me know what you think of it. I’m trying to gather as much info as I can. Thanks!

Go to web site 'BiggerHammer.Net'. Lots of SIG rifle info there.

Nobody has made receivers for these that I know of. The closest was the complete Sig AMT rifle which was imported in small numbers. These were not sold as stripped receivers. I had an AMT and its a fine weapon but they are expensive at 5K plus. They were never that popular in the US and very few were brought in before the ban, most in the early 70s. If your thoughts are to build a complete rifle, pass the parts kit by. I dont know a single avenue for building a legal rifle. These are somewhat useful for people who already own preban AMT or Pe rifles.
