which one is better for combat?

I don't know if either is appropriate/adequate for "combat," but if I had to stake my life on either I would choose the Beretta.

The only MPA-971 I've ever handled was The_Beer_Slayer's and, IIRC, it had a cracked receiver at the time.    (I think they were going to replace it - maybe he'll see this thread and chime in re: quality, durability, accuracy, etc.)

My Storm has been utterly reliable, more accurate than I would have expected, and an absolute joy to shoot.  I use it for fun only, but I wouldn't feel too bad about defending life and limb with it (though it would be far from my first choice ).

I haven't played with a MPA but I'd be willing to bet my ass on my CX4. Mine has also been 100% reliable.

What is the fire rate of the Storm? I know the MPA 971 has a fire rate of 240 rnds per minute same as a ruger 10/22's fire rate.

Just for reference, mine works 100% and is easy to load. 71 rounds of 9mm goodness

Uh, they are both Semi Auto IIRC. It depends on how fast you can pull the trigger.

I cant shoot my 10/22 at 240RPM

MPA is garbage. They are extremely heavy and poorly made. A good solution for a FAL owner but for from a serious defensive carbine like a 9mm AR or Beretta Storm.

MPA is a hell of a mish-mash of random parts. Go with the Storm, though I don't know about using it in "combat"

Have you owned/shot one. Granted they are really heavy the gun itself is extremely well made and with roughly 20 drum fulls of all kinds of ammo it had yet to hicup.

Now granted as a battle weapon no one wants to lug around a 14lb 9mm carbine, that is where the Storm has the advantage.

Just my opinion though and I don't claim to know much

Ill stick with a converted 9mm ar15.

My CX4 Storm has been awesome! 100% reliable, durrable, and accurate(1 inch groups at 50 yards with a scope). Great gun! I would feel confident using it to defend my home.

You have to choose between the two?  Boy, I sure am glad nobody told me that...

(I love 9mm carbines - have several. )
