He SPECIALIZES in Mini-14s, and is big on www.perfectunion.com. He shortened my Mini, and permanantly attached a Phantom. His work and customer service is top notch.

Bushwacker85 your rifle is nice. I will give them a call. How was your accuracy affected when the barrel was cut? Thanks JC

Shortening a Mini-14 barrel to 16" is a proven way to improve accuracy. Many people have had it done with good results.

+1 to what gaweidert said, the accuracy of my barrel was better after the chop. The way I have my Mini set up, it is shooting ~1.25" at 50 yards with the red dot and Black Hills 68 gr. OTM. I know I could bring that group down with a real scope and while taking my time.

The only down side would be if you ever wanted/needed to send the rifle to Ruger for service. They would do one of two things, either restore it to its original ( replacing your modified barrel) configuration, or NOT work on it.
