yeah...I was thinking more like 1000-1300...but 1700-2000, that might take a bit more saving.

Will they come with a 16" barrel only or will they make a 20" version also?  I haven't been following it that closely.

I think the 20" would appeal to me more.

CMMG Inc. expects prices to be $2000-2200.

2000 bucks?

Man for that kinda dough I will buy a SAMR upper and still have cash for some ammo.  Well if you build one right it would be a little more......

I guess the Geewhiz factor could drive the price up there.

Yeh the thing is kind of expensive just for a 223 bulpup. I would have thought it more in the price range of the ps90. Oh well we have to see when they come out. Remember, FN jacked the priced up on CMMG for the P90s from $1400 to $1750 (or at least the retail) where some people had them locked in at $1400 some places. I would think if you pre-order somewhere you will keep the price. I was lucky I got on a locked in list right after I got on it with CMMG for the PS90. I felt bad telling them no last week when they told me about it but I really cant justify $1750 when I can get it for $1400 if I wait just a bit longer.

I agree, I was looking for a PS90 but I am not paying $300-500 over MSRP. I will wait until prices come back down or else someone doesn't like theirs and decides to sell it. I thought the FS2000 was in the $1800 range. If FN jacked up the price for CMMG on the PS90, they may also be doing it on the FS2000.

Actually according to the FNH catalog the FS2000 will have a 17.5" barrel on it rather then the 15" and change barrel of the the military model. This is pretty close to an 18" barrel on an AR due to the polygonal rifling, so I think it's a pretty good intermediate length.

I agree though, not that I am really comparing the two, but my old Bushmaster M-17s had a 21.5" barrel and was signifcantly more compact then my M-4, I think part of it is there is more 'dead' space in the stock of the FS2K then in the M-17s, but it would still be very compact with a full size barrel.

Actually I was thinking about it, $1700 isn't that bad for a premium quality .223, I mean, that's comporable with a NIB Colt M-4. (That is not to be taken as I think Colts are worth the money, because I dont')

I just hope they are out soon, before I break down and spend my FN fund on something else....now what optic to put on it?...

I would really love to have an FS 2000, but I'm going to wait until the rush over before I pick one up.  I think in the anticipation there might be a bit of price gouging going on, perfect example is the P 90 mags I see them everywhere for $60-$100 each.  I think normally they go for around $50.

FWIW, my dealer told me the green ones will be out in about two to three months, and the black ones will become available around September '06, give or take a couple months.  I, for one, am holding out for a black one, sho nuff.
