Sort of correct..

The HMR is based off the 22 magnum round, and the MAch 2 is based off the .22 long rifle.. of course they are both necked down to .17 caliber.. However unlike the 22long rifle, and magnum, they both use the same bullet..

Bzzt, only partly right. The .22LR and .22WMR use the same diameter bullet. The bullet in a .22LR case is heeled and is the same diameter as the case (.22 inches). The bullet in the .22WMR is not heeled and the case is slightly more than .22 inches in diameter. This is why it is not safe to fire .22LR in a .22 WMR chamber.

Your info on the .17 caliber rounds is correct.

A .22LR bullet is .224" and the case is .225".
