Mine was a winchester pump 12 gage with a full choke.  I gave it to my nephew.  It was originally his dad's.  My brother gave it to me when I was in the 4th grade.  I hunted squirrel, rabbit, turkey, and coyote with it when my dad used to own a farm.  It's funny when I think about it.  My dad was in the Navy during WWII.  Never liked guns or hunting.  My mother told my brothers that they had to teach me to hunt.  All of my brothers own guns.  Out of eight of us, 4 hunt regularly, 2 hunt once every 6 years or so, and two rarely touch their guns.  I have two sisters.  Only one has hunted.  She does not own a gun anymore, but would consider going hunting if we take her and the weather is fair.

Now I own...

1- Beretta 92
1- CZ 75 (won it in a target shoot)
1- 1911
2- SAA in 45LC
1 - Wichester 92 in 45LC, 1 of 500
1 -  Mossberg 500
1 - Browning Semiauto 12 ga, Ducks Unlimited
1 - AYA SXS, not in working condition
1- SKS
1- AK47
1- M1A
1- M1 Garand
4- AR-15s, with a new RRA 9mm on the way

God I love guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first gun was also my Dad's first gun, handed down to me, and I still have it. An old "Coast to Coast Hardware" bolt action .22 S/L/LR. Dad gave me the choice between that one and a "Ted Williams" lever gun (more correctly a single shot falling block that LOOKED like a lever gun). Typical 12 year old kid thinking, I picked the bolt gun because it held 15 shots vs. the single shot Ted Williams....but nowadays I'm glad I picked the one I did just because it was Dad's gun.

Remington 510 single shot.  My dad bought 5 of them when the local Boy Scout camp got new rifles and sold their old ones.  I got to pick one and I refinished the stock and put a reciever peep sight on it.  I was about eight or nine (that's 33 or 34 years ago!!!!!!!). Yes, I still have the rifle.  My first center fire was a Remington 788 in .308 that I got for Christmas when I was eleven, still have that one too.  My first pistol was a Colt 1911 dad bought at a gun show when I was thirteen.  I recently scrounged up all original 1911 parts and put that gun back original.  My daughter's first gun was a chipmunk 22 when she was five.  She's now eighteen and has a nice collection started.

It was a .22 rifle. I had a paper route at the time so I guess this was my early teens, in the early 1970s. I don't remember my age. But there was a used .22 for sale in the paper. I don't recall the maker. I got permission to buy it and walked to the guy's house (or have I forgotten that Mom drove me?) and paid for it out of my paper route money and brought the rifle home. It was a tube loader. There was something about it I didn't like once I got it home, so when Dad got home from work we called the guy up and asked if we could return it. Dad and I drove over to this guy's house and we got my money back. I then got a brand new Remington magazine fed .22 which I stupidly sold when I was 18. My second firearm was a Sears pump action 12 gauge, which I used Pheasant hunting with Dad. Sold that at age 18 too, in 1975. Somebody got a great deal on those guns. Wish I had 'em both now.

Even through I was exposed to my Dad's respectable collection while growing up, a Ruger MkII stainless bull barrel was the first gun I was allowed to purchase for myself.  Seems that he wanted to make sure that good habits were started early.....still brings back fond memories of shooting lessons in days gone by.

Rifle. Early Colt AR15 SP1 with no assist.  Dang I still kinda miss that one. Turned 18 the day before a gun show and took $400 with me to that show the next day. Grabbed an AR of the rack and walked out the door for four bills.
