Hi,

I went to Korean defence fair today..
Although I brought my digicam there...
It turned out that it didn't have any memory card inserted :'(

Cheek weld is a lot like Steyr AUG...
(didn't have much time there today)

*Might go there again tomorrow for pics and operating vids.

however, I took the pamplet and scanned it for ya people :)

It was a working prototype, no ammos were inseted
for safety but was allowed to load mag etc. but
I dunno whassup with Daewoo to go with
bullpup.

just 3 months ago the rumour was that it's going to be somewhat similar to G36,

They said that they are going into full production from next year (around Oct)

*BTW Laser is visible for close range combat.

specs

I promise I will go there tomorrow again for pics and more info.

Great!  I'd love to see actual pics of the rifle, plus anything else interesting there.

They had K series gallore there...
(K1,K2,K3(minimi clone),K5,K4(40mm))

It was much more heavyfigher orientated
(a la tanks etc. radar system, missles etc.)

You can tell by the placement of the bolt release and safety switch, that it's just an bullpup built on an AR operating system.  At first, I could only see the front part of the gun, which looks amazingly like the Beretta CX4.

Looks pretty neat.  Wonder how well it will work.

it's more like K2...
(but then that's vewy similar to AR mech.)

Yeah, in the cutaway drawing you can see the K2 type piston, and even the recoil buffer in the back is K2ish.  It's very interesting to see how the trigger link goes to a "trigger" itself as well.  Looks like the actual trigger slides directly to the rear, pushing the link connected to the hidden "trigger".  A sensible system.  Better than the set-up on my Bushmaster M17s.

I liked the Type88 tank and the M113 based KIFV (K300?) when I was there in the early 90's, but that was a while ago.  Did they have any new AFV's out?

That stoopid foregrip is placed way too far out.

*If you have noticed, on the top pic, some MORON placed the
mag upside down

this is K7, issued to South Korean high speed
boys...

I believe the aFV is called K200
stil in service IIRC

The new AFV was similar to Stryker,
other than that, funny thing was that
it had 2 sets of front wheel and 1 set of
rear wheel..

Here is the inside pic

Were you stationed in Korea?

sorry about my late reply..

they did have new AFV out there..
the hot stuff was the K9 which is apparently
the 2nd world's best SPA

This is K2 supposed to replace K1 when it phases out

This is K1A1 (current service)

They had NVGs allowed to be worn.
pretty cool.

Rest being completely irrelavant but
the bolt action rifle is the issued one
for shooting competition when I was doing
junior cadet stuff in UK.
Basically refurbished Parker Hale M85.

the next one being the armory
(mix of GP rifle (single shot SA80 basically)
SA80, LSW (aka L86) etc.

Score another for the bullpup design..

Here's the KWIFV, I'm not entirely sure what they're calling it.

My first thought was 'Pandur', but the side-slopes are different. Similarly the nose is wrong for any version of Piranha. Wheels look closer to Piranha III than anything else though, so maybe they did a deal with MOWAG for suspension technology transfer.

Judge for yourself:

(Steyr)

and http://www.mowag.ch/Images/Bildergalerie/Piranha/Piranha%20III/Version6x6/6x6-III_02.jpg
(MOWAG)

By second-best artillery system in the world, I take it you're referring to PzH2000 as the best? (Not that G-6, 2S19 and AS90 aren't that far behind either.. M109's got good new electronics, but the system's getting old..)

fokket123, first thanks much for the pics and info.  Do you happen to know the specs on the laser - 650nm, 635nm, etc., ????  The reason I ask is that visible laser aiming devices here in the US have tended run way behind available technology and wondered if the Koreans were making the same mistake.

Worth noting that the Koreans are still with a 20" barrel insuring that the "V" in SCHV (Small Caliber High Velocity) is still alive and well while our own military has too often tended to move to shorter barrels.

Were you stationed in Korea?

Yeah, I was there for a year in the early 90's.  Camp Eagle, near Wonju on the eastern side of the peninsula.

I've seen that 6x6 somewhere before, probably in a trade jornal or something.  I'll have to do some digging.

of it.

(Didin't mean to blur it but I accidently
saved it and I can't put it back anymore)

Other parts that are blurred has got 'names' on it. so...
