FINALLY, after close to 3 YEARS of working on it, sending it to a couple of 'smiths, taking it apart completly and rebuilding it...my pre-ban L1A1 finally, finally runs!

Yah, I posted this elsewhere, just figured I'd share my joy

It's so nice now, to be able to set the gas to 6 or 7 and actually have it not only cycle, but empty mag after mag without so much as a single hiccup...

I spent all weekend, banging rounds off of a large (dual) headstone-sized rock at 200 yards, using irons and a SUIT, off and on, offhand and kneeling. I printed groups of 3/4 of an inch, 5 rounds, at 25 yards...yah, ok, so its not exactily match quality, but start close and move far..

To see what the problem was, hit the FN-FAL forum. Stupidly simple solution, but it was a non-obvious problem unless you know what you're looking for
