Damn!!!!!......I've never shot a 50cal before. It was a DPMS lower w/a heavier hammer installed + other mods' I'd imagine. It had a B/A Ferret 50 upper. MY FIRST SHOT though @ 300yrd's w/a Tasco20XSS it was equipted with went through the 1/4"or 1/2" plate! I'll admit, though reluctantally, there was a "small" pillow between my shoulder and the Buttstk. But @ 300yrds I peirced the plate w/in 2" of 10X ring! Damn.........NOW I gots AR50FEVER!...........but a buck'na'half around!......I'll be needing a second on the house! And I thought my new .308 was going to be my long range sucker!

I am eyeing an AR-30 in 338 Lapua Magnum. $62.99/box of 20. Um, that's $3.15/round.

The .50 may be a better deal.

Not if you're shooting match .50! It's $5+ a round for specially loaded Amax, but this is the stuff that shoots 7" groups at 1000 yards.

A guy down the road bought one a couple of months ago. As far as I know, he still hasn't shot it. Maybe the cost of ammo is the reason.

the last time i was in the gun shop rem green box 30-06 was $15.00 for 20 rounds.

that's 75 cents.

the Hornaday premium was $25.00 for 20

or $1.25

.50 isn't all that expensive for what your shooting
