I had Paul of Armadillo Refinishing redo my P226 and 3 mags in a two-tone teflon finish.  Came out looking great.  I highly recommend him.  His web site is www.armadillorefinishing.com (still under construction, but a lot of content already there).  Here's my 226:

is the frame OD?  i love that two tone look.

Yep, OD frame with matte black slide and controls.  Some might call it a "pimp" look, but I like it.

What did it cost for having it done to the Sig and the Mags ?

The whole gun plus 2 mags was (as I recall) $160.  Another $10 for the extra mag.  I'm quoting this from memory, so don't hold me to it.  This is about half the price I was quoted by Rocky Mountain Arms, another leading teflon refinisher.  Check with Paul for an exact figure:  [email protected]

What was his turnaround?

Turnaround was about 2 weeks.

Looks great!! Been thinking of refinishing my 220. How tough is that finish, anyway?
Link Posted: 3/21/2003 6:00:01 PM EDT

It's supposed to be pretty tough.  Paul has a 220 that he's put 1,000 rounds through since refinishing, and there's no wear of any kind in the finish.  Of course, it's not a "miracle" finish.  If you tie the gun to the back of your car with a rope and drag it for 10 miles it's gonna look pretty bad.  But with normal use and care it's one of the better choices for a firearm finish.

TXL, He did not refinish the slide per my request.  After inspecting it, he told me the slide finish was still in good shape and gave me the option of passing on it, and doing it at a later time if necessary.  I decided to do this, as it will allow me to see how the original finish wears next to the teflon.

He did the frame, fire control parts, and the 3 mags.

If I remember correctly, Paul posted on here about a year or so ago about his service, didn't he? His prices were/are very reasonable. I wish I'd remembered him, or you'd posted sooner, as I sent my Model 37 Ithaca out yesterday morning to get teflon'd.

More pics!  I don't think the scheme would work on my Beretta 92FS, but a CZ 75 series would look great like that, as would a Browning Hipower.  Most impressive.

What gives?  I tried calling the number on the site (970)245-8256 and a little girl told me that I didn't have the right number.  Guess I'll try the email...

H357SIG,
Our telephone service was on the fritz for awhile back then,  that might've been the cause of that.  This is a late reply to your post... as I rarely get the free time to check out ar15.com.

You can try the number again,  and ask for Paul if interested still.

I have a Beretta 92FS that is a great reliable gun (my primary blaster) but its finsh is in horrid shape. I been wanting to get it redone for a while.

I contacted Robar, but they didn't even get back in touch with me. They don't want my money, thats fine by me.

I will be giving this fella a call. Thanks for posting this thread...

Very nice.  I need to buy one of those AIM poice trade-ins and have that done.

$379 for a SIG, can't beat that.  Plus, I like the older stamped slides better anyways.

I bought one of those FN High Powers that were for sale in Shotgun News a couple of years ago and the finish was terrible. It shot great but it was damn ugly.  I couldn't find anyone to refinish it for me that wasn't going to cost me and arm and a leg plus having to wait for months and months.
I wish I would have known about this refinsher about a month ago because I traded it for a different one.

Your pistol looks great.

Absolutely beautiful, marvl.

Just out of curiosity, how bad was the finish before you sent in in?  Got any pics prior to the refinish; it would be cool to see a 'before' and 'after' comparison.

Well I am going to go through with it. I am going to send my 92FS off this week to have it refinished in black and dark grey, along with 4 magazines.

I will try to post some good before and after pics. Anyone know of a good pic hosting site online that I could use to do this?
