Not, .357 out of a 16in+ barrel has very little recoil,noise & flash, Porting will increase flash & use up your money for no reason.

Marlin 1894C is what you want.Do NOT get the ported version. The decrease in muzzle flip is minimal at best and the increase in muzzle flash is dramatic. The 1894 line has very reasonable recoil/flip. I shoot my .44mag and don't even notice it.

I have a bunch of levers, and you can take this advice or leave it, but don't say you weren't forewarned if you go with the porting.
