m16a4 equal m16a2 with a removable carry handle. not sure if any units use it at this time. semi and 3 round just like the a2

I never saw or used the A4 while on AD, but at least according to the Oct 98 TM (9-1005-319-10) the A4 has detach handle, plus a rail system replacing the front hand guards.

Combines the best of both worlds: the accuracy (practical) and velocity of the A2, with the modularity of the M4. Little wonder that the Marines Corps adopted it over the M4! I don't know if Colt of FN got the contract, but it calls for 65,000 M16A4s to be delivered to the Marines (don't know over what time period).
