I recently had a .375-06 barrel put on an mauser action of mine.  I did a camo job on it this week.

Paint: Krylon Camo spray paint, ultra flat

camo: cut out stencils on Avery disk labels with exacto knife and stuck them on olive drab stock, then sprayed them with black for the splotches.

Doesnt the red x negate the purpose of camo?

ar15bubba-

Cool looking stock.  I am curious to hear how long the paint lasts...

I am wondering how long it will last also.  I want to overcoat it with somethig, but dont want to loose the flat look.

Why didnt you paint the barrel and action?  Also, where did you get the stock?  I picked up a mauser that I'm going to strip for the action.

I hope you don't mind that I lightened up the photo a bit.  It looks real good.  A .375 H&H Remington 700 BDL is in my future someday.  Your .375-06 is the first one I've ever seen, though I've heard of the cartridge.  Wonder if my Remington 7400 could be rebarreled to that one!  Now THAT would be a worthwhile project.

You can find a flat clear that will help protect the finish. Look at local hobby stores for a dulcoat finish

Try a satin polyurethane...they come in water and non-water based types as an overcote.

Looks great.  As for wear, I have a friend who did this to a 10/22 and an 870.  Both have seen EXTREME abuse and the finish actualy seems to hold up pretty good.  Good job.
