Please list the markings that are stamped on your lower parts(Trigger group, hammers, sear, etc..) I think it would be a huge help to have a complete list of what makers have what markings.

i too have searched for this info & basicly come up empty, what we need to do is everyone who owns an AR-15 or clone should post what markings are on the internal parts, that way we can start our own data base !! how does that sound to you ??

i have Colts & some clones that have no markings & some with marks......

Come on fellow AR lovers, All ya got to do is push your rear takedown pin and look to see what was stamped on your parts.

I just think it would be nice to have a complete list of who made what and when. Before you set out to the gun show or where ever you are going to buy AR parts. It would be a huge help to know what your buying, right?

I view this as an infringement of owner-gun confidentiality.

OK. 2 rifles, both Colts bought NIB. One pre, one post. Both large pin. Replaced the internals with Colt match trigger groups. Here's how the parts are marked:

1 hammer unmarked.
1 hammer stamped with an S
1 trigger stamped with an M
1 trigger stamped with an S

I don't know which parts came from which rifle.

I only have markings on my hammer to report, as I don't want to take the whole trigger group out.

Anyway they are as follows:

Bushmaster postban: M marked on the side.

Colt preban Match H-BAR: S marked on the side.

Hope this helps.

Well My new J&T Kit has a M circled on the hammer and no marking I could see on the trigger ,Could it be that they aren't Colt parts as I was told when I got them?
I was also told by DPMS that Colt doesn't sell there parts kits but I have seen them everywere listed as Colt..How can you tell? Thats what were here for right ..Looks so far that Colt are stamped with a C and Bushmaster a B..
Need more for a complete database...

Barrel is stamped "FNMI C MP 5.56 NATO"
Its a mystery barrel as it shoots great.  1 MOA with BH ammo.  Much less with good handloads.

Hammer is stamped "FN"

Upper is a known BM/QP

Lower is a PWA

Carrier is a remilled part so its generic (milled from an M16 before Parkerizing)

Trigger and all are JP aftermarket.

Bolt is from Fulton and is a Carpenter alloy product of highest quality but no marks.

Stocks are GI genuine.

Just bought Bushmaster lower. Hammer left side stamped "GS", right side "M". Trigger has letter "P" on right side. Disconnector has stamped "HJ" on left side.

Receiver SN L069XXX, is that possibly pre ban receiver?

thanks,
MN

It's pretty close but it's a postban, sorry to bring bad news. Any Bushmaster Lower with a serial number over 'L063000' is a postban.

Postban PWA has a "M" inside a circle on the left side of the hammer.
