Glocks. Everyone I know around here has a 'pocket glock'. With Kel-Tec P-32s coming in a distant second.

Me? I carry a rebuilt Mauser M.1934. Old world quality AND craftsmanship. Besides, the trigger is the best of any small auto I've ever shot and damned if I cant empty a mag into a dinner plate at 25ft in under five seconds.

The one of the bottom.
Little revovlers make the best carry pieces IMO.
That's ruger SP101 .357mag.

Small, light, very cozy grip, and packs a punch.

I'd say the most carried gun on the streets of the US is going to be a .25/.22 of the Davis/Jennings/Raven variety.

The folks on this board (and probably many of their firends) are into guns.  I think that many of the responses of "Glock, etc" reflect that.  Many of my friends that are not into guns, but carry because of security concerns, will actually carry small frame revolvers or small .380 autos (like the Bersa, PPK, FEG, Makarov, etc).  Sure, many will say that if they're really concerned over security then they need to carry "X" brand.  But the fact is that most people that carry a gun, do not get into getting all "geared up" with a large frame auto, holster, spare mags, mag holders, flash-light, pepper spray, and whatever else just to go to Food Lion.  They just grab a gun with their car keys, and they want it to be just as convienient as just grabbing those car keys.

The other fact is that most people would rather not spend several hundreds (or more) of dollars on a gun.  I don't mind spending money on guns, and I'd venture to say most folks here don't mind it either.  But most folks don't buy higher-end guns anymore than they buy higher-end tools, or higher-end cars.  Again, that would result in the small "Saturday Night Specials" as what I think are the most carried.

Personally, I carry a Colt Detective Special .38 revolver.  I try out all sorts of others, but I keep ending up with the Colt.

I'd say Glocks and 1911 variants. (and if you believe the folks in L.A. the .50BMGs are quite popular too 0

Used to carry a PPK.  Now I carry a Glock 23 in .40.
Sometimes carry a Kahr K40 in .40.

Thinking about going wheel gun: Smith Utralight Scandium.

I think Troy is absolutely correct here. The Glock is probably first, followed by various 1911's and then the j-frame Smith and Wesson.

My Felon Repellant is a handy .22mag 5 squirt dispenser by North American. I found the larger dispensers just arent as convenient to carry all the time.

If the question is "what is the most common carry pistol?"

The answer is most likely - a stolen weapon. What kind? Probably some POS .22, .25, or .380.

If the question is what do most law abiding persons carry - most likely it is a Glock.

However:

Those who carry guns, carry a Glock. Those who shoot guns, carry a 1911.
