RBCD ammo is supposed to be a metal/plastic hybrid that has devestating wound ballistics.  Hype or must have?

I bought a couple of boxes of .40 caliber but never fired them. I gave them to my dad because I don't have a .40 any more. They are expensive.

Well, I believe it is generally advisable to shoot several hundred rounds of whatever ammo you plan on carrying to ensure its reliability in your firearm.  It's expensive enough to do this with commercial JHP - who can possible afford this with RBCD?
