Does anyone know where you can purchase new, high quality (such as Ruger, PMI, Scherer) ten round magazines for the MINI-14. I know Ruger used to make them (I've got one) but I don't think they sell them to the general public anymore. I've got twenty round PMI and Scherer magazines, but have never seen them advertise 10 round magazines. I don't want USA magazines.

I have 6 10 rounders made by Millett that were sent to replace 6 20 rounders that flat didnt work. The 10s have been reliable, but are made of lexan or some other plastic and I am not sure of the long term reliability. I am always on the lookout for real Ruger mags and NEVER see any for sale.

Somebody out there must have some.

This begs a further question. Ruger sells 10 round 10-22 and PC-9 magazines. So what's their rationale for not selling 10 round MINI-14 magazines?

You are in luck. Evidently Pro Mag is making a 10 rounder for both the Mini-14 and the Mini-30 that works about as well if not as well as the factory mags. They even look just like the Ruger mags. The word is that they have (or are trying to get the contract) to build Ruger's factory mags. From what everyone says, these are very good. They can be bought at www.fourfourmag.com.

Also, check out some reviews from the mini-14 forum over at perfectunion.com.........perfectunion.com/forums/showthread.php?s=6bd17c55ddca999c873a4f2fb711424c&threadid=2142. That looks like pretty good quality to me. They are a little more pricey than some of the competition, but you get what you pay for.
