I just saw that TAPCO is selling CETME mags for 4.99.  I bought some last time they had this deal going and the mags were great. Just wanted to let people know.  I love my CETME rifle.

heck, I'm selling G3 mags for less than that if you buy 10 or more, they work great in a CETME or G3/HK-91.

Where did you get your CETME?  I'm still pondering getting one.

I was thinking the same thing.  Reading these boards kinda scared me off of ordering one because it seems like it is a shot in the dark whether you get a good one or not.  I have not seen any at the local gunshows so I really don't know the best way to go about getting one.  That is a GREAT price for mags though.  Sure beats the $80 or so for AR-10 mags.

I just bought a CETME through SOG (southern ohio gun.com). They are an interesting rifle and was the forerunner to the HK91/G3. All of the CETME made now are made by Century and the current ones are fairly good quality.

Some early ones had crooked sights and other problem.

CETMES were made with a cast stainless receiver and the current ones are stamped (as are HK91s) All other parts are surplus and vary as to condition.

Mine came with 1-5 round mag and 2/20 rounders in a green rubber, German marked double mag pouch.

I bought 10 mags in a haversack from Tapco recently. ($59.95) The deal came with a muzzle brake and sling also. The mags were covered in cosmoline (wrapped in newspaper inside the haversack) but cleaned up well and are in very good condition.

Overall I think the rifle is a good deal at around $300.

I picked mine out of three at the local gun shop.  The first two had problems with the bolt moving freely inside the receiver.  Mine works great and is very accurate.

I bought a CETME from SOG. The Century reciever is all crooked.  Everything works fin but looks f-ED up at the mag well.
I then bought the Armourers kit from FAC (gunsnstuff.com) and it comes with NEW wood for my gun.  Made the $350 gun look like a $550 gun, plus you wouldn't believe the extra parts that come with it......
PLUS if you buy the sheetmetal receivered CETME, the original G3/HK91 collapseable stocks FIT with NO modification to the gun, just use some emery cloth to the end of the recoil spring.
