Has anyone had any experiene with this rifle?  Is it worth the $1000 price tag?  Any other info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Sorry!  The Armalite website retails the rifle for just above a grand I believe.  I'm interested in .308 but any info on another caliber would do as well.  Thanks again.

I think the initial ones will be .338 Lapua, with .308 to follow at a later date.  How much later, I don't know.

00,
the AR-30 in .338 Laupa has begun to ship.
The .300 WinMag is next in line with the .308 coming later this fall.

Still too early to give you a report but I'll admit to having an AR-30 in .300 WinMag on order !!!

(00, the word is this puppy is a SHOOTER !)

If it's even halfway as decent as the AR-50, it'll be worth a look and possible purchase (as long as they keep it less than $1500).

RM,
same design process.  I believe he .338 Laupa even uses the '50 brake.  The price is under $1500.  (I 'believe' the $1500 will get you the scope mount also but I'll check to be sure.  And will return later with the answer.)

The 'introductory' price on the AR-30 in .338, .300 and .308 is $1180.00.  The scope base (Weaver rail) introductory price is $70.00.
That makes the AR-30 initially come in at $1250.00.
Then just add the mount and scope of your choice.

Estimated shipping dates:

AR-30 .338 Laupa - Shipments have just begun with increased shipments due in September.

AR-30 .300 WinMag - Shipments to begin in October

AR-30 .308 - No estimated ship date as yet.

(Took me longer than I thought to run down the info and that's why I'm tardy !)

CORRECTION:  The brake on the .338 Laupa is the same 'design' as that of the .50 cal but has been scaled down in size to match the AR-30 .338.

I saw one of them at Perry a few weeks ago.  Looked great.  I really wish I'd picked it up and messed with it some.  Serious drool factor.  The more I think about the damn thing the more I want one.

I'm guessing this was the .338 Laupa ??

Did you happen to see the rifle being fired ??
