Should an AR that is set up as a precision rifle have back up flip up iron sights?
Trying to decide if I should put them on my V-Match or not. Would save quite a few bucks by not putting them on. Always said I would have them but I am wondering now.

My AR is set-up for long-range plinking. I usually have a scope on it. Its an A3 with rails on the gas block. Both of my "steel" sights (front and rear) are removeable.

I use the regular sights when I want to have 'fun' seeing how bad I really am with them.

I think its a good idea to at least have both available, just in case your scope gets whacked really bad and you don't have time to get another one.

I bought this cool book

I got the impresion author didn't seem to see a big need for back up sights on sniper rifles. I guess if the scope is jiggered up the sniper is not going to go on with the mission. But then he has his spotter with him that carries an M14, or other rifle. Of course I know nothing about this personally. This is a great book to read in the airport and on the plane tho
