Are there any new production ones being made besides the Mateba?

I've been wondering about them since I keep seeing them on tv (X-Files and Another Stakeout)

Anyone know anything? Thanks!

Edited to add I was not watching Another Stakeout! I was flipping around and saw a neat rifle

The one on the X files was Ruger based.  It was a Redhawk SILENCED revolver, carbine length barrel and shoulder stock.

I read a SOF or other article on the system while I was in HS in the early 80s, it used a special sleeve around the projectile, IIRC, which plugged the cylander/barrel gap, either that or the cylander was modified to move forward and seal it, can't recall.  I do remember it was a wierd round.

It was supposed to be very accurate.

Forgot aboutit for 20 odd years, then I see Cigarette man using it to maybe off Mulder, or a lone gunman, and these memories came flooding back.

It was a one or two off oddball, not in production AFAIK, and was "new" years ago.
