I have found new Wolf, Barnaul and late 1970-early 80's brass cased Yugoslavian 7.62X39.  

Can members that shoot these brands rate them for me please. The ammo is for a SKS.  Thanks Am-O-Tramp

I haven't shot any Barnaul, so I can't commment on that, but I'd take the Yugo surplus over the Wolf.  Nice shiney brass, and the smell of any type of Wolf ammo make me queezy.

Does the Yugo have a steel core? My local range won't let you shoot it due to fire regs.

BKinzey, their both copper jacketed over lead core.

I haven't shot the Yugo stuff, but Barnul is more accurate than Wolf. Mic the bullets and you'll see why.
