Is a .22 rimfire Sig Trailside.

Its runs $450 + but it feels REALLY GOOD in my hand.

Anyone with any experience with these??

(I LOVE my other Sig)

I don't have one, but I've heard unpleasant reviews about it. I personally like Browning's, who also make contoured wood grips, if thats what you're looking for.

My local shop has a couple of the Trailsides. Look/feel like nice guns, but I haven't shot one and I don't know anybody who has. The Trailside is supposedly made by Hammerli, the same people who make the olymic target pistols, so it should be accurate. I'm looking to get a .22 pistol and I'm having a hard time justifying the extra cost of this over something like a Ruger 22/45.

Try a buckmark. For the price of this thing you could get a Target 5.5 and that one is a dream.

yup. i had one of those sig trailsides for about a year. they do shoot well (once you find the ammo it agrees with) and fairly well balanced.

and then.......

i found a S&W model 41 with a 7.5 inch barrel. i coupled this with a Randall Fung match pistol grip( jnb.com/~funggrip/ ) and had to sell that Sig.

garandman, im not so sure if he makes them for the trailside (being a new model and all) but check out that website. Randall makes kick ass match grips for target pistols.

For that kind of money I'd get a nice Ruger .22 with a bull barrel or even slab-side.

OR...I'd get a .22 conversion unit for my 1911 pistols...probably the Marvel (seems to be the most accurate out there). I can't imagine a better shooting .22 than a 1911 with a sweet, short, light single-action trigger pull. For $450, you could practically buy the Marvel AND make your own lower 1911 from parts.

You've inspired me, sir!

That Beretta U22 is funky lookin'...

Think I'll stick to their shotguns. But one of their M14 clones might be nice...

Although they look good, I've heard plenty of negative things about them. For the money, you can have your choice of several others, Browning's are at the top of my list. I own 3 Buckmark 22's. Very satisfied with all of them. I also own one of the Colt Target models. It also is very good, but I think the Browning's are better, The S&W Mdl. 41 is the top of the line.

I am also a big fan of the buckmark sold the ruger after I got the Browning cause it was obsolete.

In 9 days, as soon as my mandatory 10 day California waiting period is over, I take possesion of a Walther P-22 Target that only cost me $210 NIB. With transfer FFL fees and California DROS it'll total $270. In the local shops they go for $280 not including DROS and sales tax.
