Do you guys know what rifle is used by the guy with the addidas jacket in behind enemy lines.  Hes the guy that is stalking the pilot until the end.

Sorry guys your wrong. Its a Sig. I can't remember the model off the top of my head but I do know it is made by Sig arms. The muzzle break is very distinctive. I check at work tonight and post the model and stats.

What's with the strap running top side of the barrel?
Link Posted: 6/14/2002 5:55:41 AM EDT
[#8]
The strap is a heat shield to reduce mirage from a hot barrel. Very nice addition.
Link Posted: 6/14/2002 5:56:09 AM EDT
[#9]
Mirage band to prevent heat waves rising off the barrel from distorting your sight picture.
Link Posted: 6/14/2002 5:57:29 AM EDT
[#10]
It helps to disipate those heat waves that come off a hot barrel and interfere with sighting.

Okayyyy! I get it now. Wow, three replies, same answer in three minutes.

I guess I still have a lot to learn. You'd think with my engineering background I would have been able to figure that out!!!

Deja Vu!  This question seems to come up every other month or so...  I have the DVD and have done 'extensive reasearch' on this topic.

It is most definitely a Steyr SSG3000.  (It is a .308)

FMJunkie,

I am guilty of that. I asked it last week, or two weeks ago.

When I saw Behind Enemy Lines, all I could think was....Zoolander.  Killed the mood from the start.
