I have an old remmington 511p bolt action .22.  I took it out today and shot with the peep site, standing, without support or sling at 100 yards.  Four five shot groups ranging from 4 to 7 inches with an average of 5.9 inches.  This is the best I have done.  With practice how good should I get?  What is a good group at 100 yards standing with iron sites?

jus,
I'm no expert at .22's but I 'believe' most .22's are shot for accuracy at 50 yards not 100.
Why don't you bench rest at 50 yards and see if you don't pull somewhere around 2"-3" groups ?
