Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - cheap, effective and easy way to scope a mauser

well, like most, i bought a $40 dollar mauser (8mm) and have successfully made it a personalized shooter.  i bought a scope mount from cdnninvestments.com and with some locktight and a red dot scope from wallmart (for the eye relief problem) i have an accurate and fun rifle.  it mounts where the rear leaf sight exists and im very satisfied. make sure you locktight it though!

I've tried this, and it does work.
However, and this is not a flame, once you try the admittedly more expensive set-up from Ashley Outdoors, you will never look back.
Their Scout mounts, hell, all their stuff, is first-rate.

wrap a little duct tape around it too.
