I have a Colt AR-15 H-Bar in top condition and would like to sell/trade it for an M-4 type AR-15. I'm wondering what a good price would be to ask.
My rifle has NO dings, scratches, etc.
I took it to CheaperthanDirt and the idiot that worked there would only offer 600.(I can't stand people who won't make eye contact!)
Any suggestions?

First of all, a retail dealer can only offer you wholesale for your gun. If he gave you what it was worth then he couldn't sell it at market price. Aside from the not looking you in the eye part, don't be too hard on him.

If your rifle is pre-ban with a fixed carry handle, it will probably sell in the $1000-1200 range, depending on the condition of the gun & the market in your area. Semi's go for more in some areas than others.

If your rifle is pre-ban, you could get a collapsable stock & new upper & then have two rifles for not much more than the price of one.

Hope this helps.
