Is it just me? Why do some of the Armalites have the appearance of a downward pointing barrel?

Perhaps because the magwell has a tilt that the AR-15's do not, thus the angle between the barrel and mag is less than 90 degrees.

Just a guess.

That would tend to make sense. To me it seems that the top of the forend is at a slant.
