In addition, there seems to be some confusion about what ammo is corrosive and what isn't.
There is NO association between corrosive primers and whether they are Boxer or Berdan. Older ammunition with corrosive primers exists with both types of primers. And plenty of new, non-corrosive ammo is being produced with both types of primers.
I think the main reason for the confusion is that the US was one of the first countries to switch to non-corrosive primers (in the 50s), and most of the older corrosive ammo in common US calibers has been shot up in the 50 years since then. But other countries didn't switch to non-corrosive primers until the 60s & 70s (and even the 80s in China), so there is still plenty of imported ammo that is corrosive, especially in non-US-military calibers.
