I want too get some of those green tips for shooting thru metal but don't want too use that S&B because of all the stories about it exploding. So who else makes green tips and where can I get them?

S&B is no good? News to me; I fired thousands of rounds of it through mine, and never once had a problem with it. And, at 50 yds, it would penetrate 1/4 inch steel plate. Almost forgot: this was 55gr ammo.

.223 S&B is crap in my book. Bought 2000 rounds and 9 out of 10 cracked the brass after firing. Gun Shop traded the other 1000 for another brand. I still have about 800 loose rounds of S&B 55gr I need to get rid of. Haven't come up with a good way to dispose of them safely yet.

at least your gun won't blow up with the cheaper wolf ammo.

1911greg,
why are you declaring S&B as crap when you admit you've never shot it. the 55gr and the SS109 are night and day different. the SS109 is very hot, it has a rediculously low Standard Deviation when chrono tested and its probably the most consistant accuracy wise of any M855/SS109 ive ever shot. and i shoot SS109 exclusively out of my 1/7 MT6601. currently on hand i have lake city 88, IMI 2000, santa barbara 93, FNM portugege 93 and S&B 2000. the S&B is the most consistant performer when i shoot for groups. spend $10, buy 2 or 3 boxes to try it and form you own opinion.
